Sucker for Love: Crush Landing Colors & Item Sources
Colors are consumable route resources, not a simple fixed recipe. Preserve flexible items, use the chameleon to copy a nearby inventory color, and save visitor rewards for later phases. Random letters and visitors mean there is no single guaranteed item order.
Phase-one color sources
| Color | Reported sources | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Red | Red gift; red pepper | Keep flexible peppers until needed. |
| Orange | Fish; banana; orange pepper | Fish must survive for Rainbow Bridge. |
| Yellow | Banana; yellow pepper | Often scarce in later community runs. |
| Green | Bathroom plant; mushrooms; green pepper | Chameleon returns to green in its tank. |
| Blue | Later crawfish/flowers | Visitor and phase dependent. |
| Purple | Grapes; balcony eggplant | Water the neighbor’s planter, feed Hheily once, then collect eggplant. |
How do you use the chameleon?
Place the chameleon beside an inventory item of another color. Players report an eye icon indicating what it is observing; it then changes to that color. Returning it to the tank restores green. Because it can become any needed color, keep it alive and unexposed for emergency use and for The Rainbow Bridge.
Where do later colors come from?
Launch-week reports identify phase-two supplies from the fridge, letters, phone calls and visitors: red crab, blue crawfish, flowers in several colors, a yellow microchip from Scam Likely, and rewards from Flora, the divorced couple and the Backwards Man. Muu can place an item of a missing color under the bed after a phone conversation. Launch Week Patch 1 officially improves flower spawn rates from the letter pile, but the event pools remain randomized, so plan around categories rather than a rigid sequence.
Common color mistakes
- Burning the fish or chameleon before knowing the final missing colors.
- Opening so many letters that an injury prevents further mail events.
- Assuming the same flower color appears every run.
- Using all yellow or orange items during the first heart.
- Ignoring visitor survival; saved characters return multiple items in the third phase.
Frequently asked questions
Why do items keep changing color?
Some objects are flexible, and visitor/letter rewards are randomized. The chameleon deliberately copies a nearby inventory color.
Can you guarantee every color?
Not from a fixed list. Preserve flexible items and use saves because visitor and letter RNG can change supplies.
How do you get the balcony eggplant?
Water the planter outside the neighbor’s apartment, feed Hheily an item, then return to collect the eggplant.
