Sucker for Love: Crush Landing Three-Heart Walkthrough

For a three-heart run, stabilize Hheily in phase one, prepare visitor rewards in phase two, and spend those reserves in phase three. Save before each heart, protect both pets from matching-color exposure, and branch separately for relationship or broken-heart outcomes. Random events can change the item order.

Verification boundary: Baseline gameplay-source review: September 6, 2026; community pet-protection instructions were reviewed October 18. The official Steam news feed and cited launch patch were checked October 24 for visitor eligibility and patch status. This adds source-backed late-run troubleshooting, not a new playtest of the community routes.

This walkthrough covers progression through the three hearts. Choose the ending branches and gallery reference for a specific result, or the Crush Landing wiki and guide for the full topic index.

Phase 1: stabilize Hheily

  1. Use bare hands or resist the meteorite to continue; save first if you also want the separate “something else” achievement branch.
  2. Inspect every room and collect stable color items.
  3. Reserve the fish, chameleon, plunger, milk and mirror.
  4. Use common single-color food first and complete the first heart.
  5. Choose whether this save will stay low-Darkness or complete the neighbor sequence.

Phase 2: control visitors and letters

Open letters and answer calls with a save ready. Read the cut-out-letter message for Midori. For Maria, use the invitation and visit checklist; the initial invitation and later entry refusal are separate choices, and arrival timing remains random. On a Darkness branch, complete the neighbor requests, enter the bathroom afterward and accept the cultist call or rare Darkness letter before waiting for Mina.

Help visitors where possible. Surviving characters can return two or three colored items in the third phase, which makes a no-sacrifice three-heart run far more manageable.

Why can an unmet visitor stop appearing?

The official launch patch says some unmet visitors are removed from the encounter pool in mid-to-late game when their arcs would be difficult or impossible to finish. Higher encounter chance does not keep every route open forever. The notice does not name every affected visitor or give an exact cutoff.

Next step: check whether you already met or called the character, then compare the character-specific setup with an earlier branch save. Do not spend all remaining colors expecting a particular visitor reward. An earlier save is a way to retry setup, not a guarantee of the next encounter.

Phase 3: spend reserves, not pets

Count every remaining color before committing. Use Muu’s missing-color item and saved visitor rewards as emergency sources. If pursuing Rainbow Bridge, neither the fish nor chameleon can die or become over-exposed: do not feed a pet to Hheily, and keep the chameleon away from the color you are about to burn. A copied color does not make the chameleon safe fuel. Mockingdragon’s community run describes moving it beside a different-colored inventory item before feeding Hheily. Broken-heart experiments need a separate save.

Check progress before leaving a phase

CheckpointWhat to inspectIf it does not match your plan
Before completing the first heartYour intended route and the color or route items still reserved.Keep the current save and consult the color table before consuming a flexible item.
Before a visitor or letter decisionThe character, current invitation stage and whether you need the item for another route.Use the character-specific guide rather than treating a missing arrival as proof that the entire run has failed.
Before the final color spendRemaining colors, saved visitor rewards and pet safety if targeting Rainbow Bridge.Return to your branch save if your target needs an item or pet you already consumed; do not treat a reported RNG reward as guaranteed recovery.
After the final outcomeThe actual ending and whether the gallery or achievement changed.Use the result-check checklist before overwriting the branch.

These are decision checkpoints, not extra mandatory quest steps or a fixed item order. The gallery reference owns outcome selection; this page owns getting through the three-heart resource loop.

Choose a route before you spend scarce items

GoalKeep separateBest first move
Three-heart / Rainbow BridgePet safety and flexible color itemsMake a base save, conserve the fish and chameleon, then use visitor rewards only as needed.
MariaInvitation and later entry choiceSet up her invitation early on a branch save; use the Maria guide to distinguish setup, arrival and the later door decision.
MidoriLetter and phone-event branchRead the cut-out-letter message, then answer Midori’s incoming call when it occurs; no outgoing number is documented.
Sentient Darkness / MinaHigh-Darkness branchDecide early to build Darkness; keep a separate comparison save rather than assuming Maria is impossible on this branch.
Hikikomori / AgoraphobicDedicated challenge savesStart fresh and plan door or exit restrictions before taking normal visitor rewards.

This route matrix avoids a common walkthrough failure: spending a rare item or taking a visitor choice that silently conflicts with the achievement you intend to finish later.

Route split summary

  • Normal/three-heart: conserve living items and satisfy each heart.
  • Maria: set up the invitation first, then distinguish the dating choice and later entry refusal; follow the reported sequence.
  • Midori: read the cut-out-letter mail, answer her call, then follow her dialogue event.
  • Sentient Darkness: build Darkness points early and let Mina in.
  • Restricted challenge runs: plan Hikikomori and Agoraphobic separately.

Troubleshooting a stalled run

  • A color is missing: compare your inventory with the color-source table and visitor rewards. Keep your route requirements in mind before sacrificing a pet.
  • A called visitor has not arrived: the patch gives called visitors higher priority, not a guaranteed next visit. Preserve your branch save; follow the Maria-specific checklist if that is your target.
  • Manager or Kuma-gumi never appears: the launch patch disabled those encounters. An older guide that requires one may describe behavior unavailable in the patched game.
  • An ending did not register: check the Ending Gallery and achievement-backfill rules. Old results without an associated achievement may need replaying.

What changed in Launch Week Patch 1?

The September 5 official patch adds an Ending Gallery with contextual hints, raises visitor chances after every item fed to Hheily, improves flower drops from letters, and prioritizes called or previously met visitors. It fixes a Maria appearance bug and lowers the special Darkness NPC threshold from six of seven events to five. The Manager call and Kuma-gumi Enforcer were temporarily disabled in that patch. We rechecked the official Steam news feed on September 30; no later gameplay patch was listed.

Frequently asked questions

Is the walkthrough deterministic?

No. Patch 1 improves visitor chances and priorities, but letters and visitor timing still contain randomization.

Can all routes be completed in one run?

No. Darkness, visitor and sacrifice choices conflict.

Does the full game have an ending gallery?

Yes. Launch Week Patch 1 adds it to the main menu with obtained-ending tracking and contextual hints.
